    Puy du Fou

    For a fabulous theme park adventure Puy du Fou is not too far away, and the day trip can be made by coach.

    Atlantic Toboggan Water Park

    If you are happy to travel a little further a field then the children will love the Atlantic Toboggan water park at St Hilaire de Riez. There are huge slides, wave pools and play areas – they will have a whale of a time!

    Les Sables d’Olonne

    For a full day of sightseeing you will not get bored at Les Sables d’Olonne. It has an abundance of beautiful and unusual buildings, from the Notre Dame de Bon Port church, with gothic and renaissance features, to Château Saint Clair a la Chaume, which houses the sea museum. If you are really lucky then you will see the huge, spectacular Vendée Global yacht race which starts in the town every four years.

    Zoo les Sables

    A short drive away is Zoo les Sables, three hectares of zoological gardens just a few hundred metres from the sea. The zoo is home to hundreds of animals in a luxurious setting. Watch the sea lions gobble up their dinner when the zookeepers give public displays of feeding time.

    Le Château de Talmont

    Close to the parc is the medieval fortress of Richard the Lion Heart, Le Château de Talmont, which is well worth a visit. There is plenty to liven up the educational trail, with crossbow shooting, knights on horseback and falconry displays throughout the summer.
